Acts 22

22:21.  Cf. Eph.3:6.  The Jerusalem mob was willing to listen to Paul’s testimony, even his word that Jesus of Nazareth was the Righteous One, the promised Messiah.  But when he told them that the Lord Jesus had sent him to the Gentiles because the people of Jerusalem would not accept his testimony about him, the mob flew into a murderous rage.  Yet God had provided Paul the unwitting protection of Rome.  Thus it was that these men received the truth all men have the right to hear, even if it only hardens them and brings wrath for their rejection of it (1 Thess.2:15-16).
